The desk clerk, Viraj, was so cordial that we felt a warm welcome. The room was cozy and quiet. There were actually TWO nightstands which I believe is a first in as many years as I can remember. It's located in an area with lots of interesting places nearby.

The location was great. Few minutes drive to the wharf and baker beach. Neighborhood was great. Felt safe to walk at night. Pets stay free so that's definitely a plus!Store right across the street and a few cafés perfect for breakfast. Definitely staying here again!

The property was alright, room was clean, some dark spot were starting to appear in the bath room, I do believe it is value for money , and not far from the hustle and bustle of Fisherman’s wharf. There is parking but you have to pay for it, but still better than the prices they ask for parking elsewhere. Staff where not overly friendly. Value for money and no frills.

The pictures online are not up to date - the rooms appeared to have updates including vinyl/laminate flooring of sorts (no carpet, thank goodness) and semi-updated showers/flatscreens. The furniture/fixtures are not up to date but had all standard/basic amenities that you might need. very small packets of the toiletries in rooms (maybe 1 use equivalent) - may need to bring your own. Location was ideal, we’re city walkers so we did a ton of walking but we’re close to just about everything. Would recommend, unlikely to get early check-in though, appears to be related to staffing but seems to be similar everywhere.

Great staff ! My hairdryer didn’t work they fixed it right away, they changed out worn out sheets on request too ! Very nice staff ! I forgot to get gentlemen’s name ! Will stay again

I really like the remodel of the room, new wall heater and upgraded the flooring and new sensor lights and had a coffee pot in the room. Quite very much enjoyed the bed, was comfortable. 👍 Nice restroom and shower except needed to be scrubbed and sanitized. Could still smell the funny shellac smell from upgrading the room. Other then the bathroom need to be scrubbed down very much enjoyed the stay.

if anyone has been to San Francisco you will know parking is a horrible experience and also very risky and dangerous. (car thief, complex street parking rule car being towed, and I experienced both before). Van Ness Inn is one of the rare property that offers parking on site! Take it !! 1. Parking parking parking!! Available for a rental car tourist like myself. :-) Very happy 2. Relatively clean property (small cockroaches exist they came out at late night, but this is normal in every single big cities I stay before almost all hotels cannot avoid this issue, LA, New York, Hong Kong) 3. working microwave 4. working fridge 5. working bathroom with nice hot shower 6. friendly staffs 7. AMAZING location, small walk to Lombard Street and Fisherman wharf. 8. Quiet, Not exactly in city center, at the edge of the city with much less hustles.
